Volodymyr’s Treatment History

1 min read

Volodymyr Kalyniuk has been on a long journey in his fight to regain his sight: his left eye is a prosthesis, while his right eye had been blind for two years.

Eventually, partial vision in his right eye was restored after he underwent an implant transplant abroad. As the patient recalls: “Everything was like looking through fog, and I couldn’t even see my own face.”

After coming for a consultation at Novyi Zir Eye Clinic in Kyiv, Volodymyr reluctantly agreed to undergo several more surgeries, as he did not believe they would be successful.

At the medical center, the doctors performed two additional procedures: they removed the sutures following the transplant and performed a posterior closed vitrectomy. After that, Volodymyr, who had been unable to see anything for two years, literally regained his sight.

In addition, in early September 2025, the doctors performed another surgery on his prosthetic eye, removing fragments that had been causing significant discomfort.

Today, Volodymyr dreams of finding a job and is making big plans for the future. We sincerely believe in him and support him at every stage of his treatment and recovery.

With best wishes,
