From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Yevhenii voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was an infantryman and later a drone operator.
During a combat mission, Yevhenii and his comrades were hiding in the basement of a building when two enemy drones flew into it, where they were staying.
Fortunately, the hero's injuries were not serious, but during treatment the soldier realised that it was time to take care of his eyes, as he had 90% visual acuity in his left eye and only 30% in his right. This was increasingly interfering with his work as a drone pilot.
Our foundation covered the cost of laser vision correction for Yevhenii's right eye. Usually, we do not finance such procedures because myopia (short-sightedness) is most often natural – caused by genetics or weakness of the eye muscles. But in this case, we are dealing with a situation where the state of vision seriously interfered with the performance of his duties.
Within a few days after the laser correction procedure, Yevhenii's vision improved to up to 60%. After a recovery period, he is preparing to return to service.
With best wishes,
Team of CO CF See the Victory.
